(May 1, 2013) — Middletown Medical, a multi-specialty physicians’ group dedicated to providing patients with top quality, comprehensive care in a warm and caring environment, is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Yinggang Zheng, a renowned Board Certified physician specializing in interventional pain management and minimally invasive spine procedures, including cutting edge of endoscopic laser lumbar discectomy and endoscopic lumbar facet rhizotomy.
With close to 30 years of experience in spine care, Dr. Zheng comes to Middletown Medical from private practice, and previously was a practice associate with the Desert Institute for Spine Care in Phoenix, Arizona. Known for his thoughtful and compassionate attention to a patient’s concerns, then developing an individualized treatment plan. Delivers a uniquely advanced and contemporary approach to pain relief.
Dr. Zheng specializes in treating spine conditions, including neck pain, low back pain, arm pain, leg pain, sciatica, numbness, disc herniation, bulging disc, stenosis, and spine joint osteoarthritis. With the cutting edge of spinal injection technique, including transforaminal epidural injection, radiofrequency ablation and others, Dr. Zheng has extensive experience in finding pain generator and treating patients who was not responsive to previous spinal injections. With special training and practicing endoscopic discectomy and rhizotomy, Dr. Zheng also provides minimally invasive spine procedures to treat patients who are suffering from low back and might need open surgery with traditional spine procedure. Dr. Zheng bridges the gap between pain management and spine surgery.

Dr. Zheng completed a Surgical Internship, Orthopedic Residency and Spine Surgery Fellowship with The Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao Medical College. He later completed a Surgical Internship with the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center and Residency Training at New York Medical College, Metropolitan Hospital Center. Dr. Zheng completed a Fellowship of Interventional Pain and Minimally Invasive Spine Procedures at the renowned Desert Institute for Spine Care, Phoenix, Arizona.
A Diplomate and Fellow of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Dr. Zheng is also a member of review board for the International Journal of Spine Surgery. He is also quite well-published via articles, book chapters and meeting/workshop presentations.
