MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. (August 19, 2013) — Middletown Medical, a multi-specialty physicians’ group dedicated to providing patients with the Hudson Valley’s best and most comprehensive healthcare services, is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Emad Rizkala, a Board Eligible Urologist with training at some of the top medical facilities in the world.
Dr. Rizkala comes to Middletown Medical through a partnership with Advanced Urology Centers of New York – Maple Avenue Division, a division of Integrated Medical Professionals. He just completed a Fellowship in Laparoscopy/Robotics & Endourology with the Glickman Urological and Kidney Institute at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio.
“We’re ecstatic to attract one of the top rising urologists in the nation with the addition of Dr. Rizkala to our team,” said Lori Marl, Operations Director. “He’s immersed himself in this field of practice, and it’s certainly shown in his body of work.”
A graduate of the State University of New York (SUNY) at Stony Brook School of Medicine, Dr. Rizkala earned his B.S. in Biomedical Science from the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at the City University of New York (CUNY) Medical School (a combined seven-year, B.S./M.D. Program), where he was Magna Cum Laude.
Following medical school, Dr. Rizkala completed a General Surgery Internship, followed by a Urology Residency, then serving as Urology Chief Resident, all with the New York Medical College/Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, N.Y.
Dr. Rizkala has also been very involved in teaching and presentations (podium and video), authoring book chapters and manuscripts, as well as ongoing research activities. In 2012, he won 1st Prize Video at the 27th European Association of Urology for “Second generation instruments for robotic single site kidney surgery: Early experience in a cadaver model.”
