Dr. Narender GoelMiddletown Medical’s own Dr. Narender Goel, MD, was a featured presenter during the 4th International Conference on Nephrology and Therapeutics earlier this month. The event, held in Baltimore, Md., brought together distinguished scientists and medical professionals from 20 countries to explore the theme of “integrating recent discoveries and interpreting clinical research for better renal health.”

Dr. Goel, a well-respected physician with extensive research and publishing credits to his name, gave a presentation titled, “Vascular Access Placement in Patients with Incident CKD Stage 4 and 5 attending an Inner City Nephrology Clinic: A Cohort Study and Survey of Providers.” The presentation shared the process and findings of Dr. Goel’s work in identifying factors associated with the initiation of hemodialysis with a functioning AV access in patients 18 and older.

Goel is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology, and currently serves as a Nephrologist and Clinical Hypertension Specialist at Middletown Medical and Orange Regional Medical Center. He is also an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine and Nephrology at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in New York, N.Y.

Prior to joining Middletown Medical, Dr. Goel was a Clinical Fellow at Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He has served on the staff of Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Mass., and at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center and Bellevue Hospital Center, both in New York City.

Dr. Goel is an expert in providing in-patient medical care, nephrology consultations for kidney failure, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, hypertension, kidney stones, and electrolyte abnormalities. He is currently seeing patients at Middletown Medical’s 111 Maltese Drive office in Middletown, N.Y.

The 4th International Conference on Nephrology and Therapeutics was hosted by OMICS International, an open access publisher which owns and operates 700 peer-reviewed journals, and hosts 1,000 scholarly conferences a year in the fields of clinical, medical, pharmaceutical, life sciences, business, engineering, and technology.
