MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. (March 30, 2015) — Middletown Medical, the Hudson Valley’s premier provider of healthcare services, is proud to announce that its Chester Urgent Care Center in the ShopRite Plaza (78 Brookside Ave., Suite 143) has earned prestigious certification for excellence from the Urgent Care Association of America (UCAOA).

Opened just last February (2014), the Chester Center is part of a select handful around the nation that have met all of UCAOA’s nationally-standardized criteria, and which distinguishes it as a true Urgent Care Center.

The Chester location joins Middletown Medical’s Urgent Care location in Middletown (111 Maltese Drive) as UCAOA certified.

“It’s quite an honor to be certified by the UCAOA, as a variety of stringent standards must be met in order to be recognized,” said Rajan Gulati, MD, President and Medical Director. “This certification is testament to the level of service our Urgent Care Centers provide to the community.”

Urgent Care is a convenient and viable option for medical conditions that cannot wait for a scheduled appointment with a primary care physician. Middletown Medical accepts unscheduled, walk-in patients during all hours of operation.

When a medical condition cannot be handled by a patient’s regular doctor – such as unexpected cuts, burns, sprains or fractures that do not require a visit to the emergency department, Middletown Medical’s Urgent Care Centers are equipped with x-ray, laboratory services and a licensed provider always available to perform minor procedures like casting and suturing.

In short, Urgent Care fills the gap between primary care and hospital emergency rooms, offering increased convenience and cost savings.  In fact, “Save Time & Money” is Middletown Medical’s slogan when it comes to its Urgent Care services.

The Urgent Care Association of America (UCAOA) Certified Urgent Care (CUC) program has been the leading force to define and answer what is an Urgent Care Center.  CUC facilities have met nationally standardized criteria, demonstrating their commitment to provide patients with high-level care.

Middletown Medical’s Chester Urgent Care Center in Middletown is open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Friday, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on weekends. You can also “Reserve Your Spot” by calling ahead, and you’ll be the next person taken upon arrival, while “Worry Free Pricing” is now also offered – different levels of affordable, pre-set pricing levels for those self-pay patients without health insurance. Visit www.middletownmedical.com/services/urgent-care for complete details on these various services, or call (845) 469-2692 for more information, or to schedule an appointment.
