Petition Letter

Dear Senator Chuck Schumer and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand,

I would first like to thank you for your efforts and support of the much needed CARES ACT.

The passing of this Act is but the first step to ensuring that Medical Practices can continue to provide patients with safe high-quality care when they need to the most. I now urge you to:

• Immediately make available the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that is critically needed by every healthcare worker, including those working in Medical Practices.
• Streamline the distribution of all funds earmarked to reimburse Eligible Health Care Providers for healthcare-related expensed and lost revenue attributed to COVID-19
• Require all payers to follow Medicare’s lead related to the coverage, coding, and payment for telehealth visits (including audio-only) at the same reimbursement as in-person visits.
• Mandate that all payers reduce administrative burdens (i.e. pre-authorizations, referrals and timely filing limits) for a 90 day period to allow Medical Practices to focus all efforts on patient care.

These measures will ensure that patients in each community will continue to have access to the care that they need during (and after) the COVID-19 Pandemic.
