Flu shotsMIDDLETOWN, N.Y. (December 3, 2014) — Middletown Medical, the Hudson Valley’s premier provider of healthcare services, recognizes National Influenza Vaccination Week next week (December 7-13), which serves as a reminder that a yearly flu vaccine is recommended for everyone 6 months and older.

As Operations Director Lori Marl notes, “vaccination is especially important for protecting those at high risk for serious flu complications.” This includes:

— Young children.

— Pregnant women.

— Adults 65 years and older.

— Anyone with chronic health conditions like asthma, diabetes, and heart disease.

With the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) most recent FluView report showing flu activity currently low across the USA, there are signs that activity is increasing, and will continue to do so in the coming weeks.

With this, Middletown Medical offers walk-in flu shots at any of its three Urgent Care Centers (in Chester, Ellenville and Middletown), and also by scheduling an appointment with your Primary Care physician.

For more information on National Influenza Vaccination Week, visit www.cdc.gov/flu/about/season/index.htm.

And to schedule a flu shot at any of Middletown’s locations, call (845) 342-4774.
