Position: Full Time

• Knowledge of proper use and maintenance of CT equipment.
• CT examinations and procedures that require the use of contrast agents.
• Ability to manage patients during complex CT procedure exams.
• Able to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and employees within the organization.
• Follows all radiation protection and dose reporting policies and processes.
• Assist other technologists when necessary to maintain productivity.

Requirements:

• Must have the ability to function as a CT Technologist in performing examinations of patients of all ages
• Effective communication skills and excellent patient care skills required.
• Functions proficiently with all technical equipment in diagnostic modality.
• Properly uses radiation protection and shielding material to ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines.
• RT (R), (CT), (ARRT), and BLS

• New York State: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

• ARRT Certification (Required)

Your responsibilities as MA:

• Performing vital sign documentation.
• Prepares patients and rooms for exams and procedures.
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment.
• Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practice.
• Preparing patients for examination/procedures.
• Assisting physicians with procedures.
• Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person.
• Collecting patient data in person and by phone and documenting patient concerns.
• Messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician’s review, administering medications specifically directed by the physician.
• Scheduling of appointments and procedures.
• Complete and accurate message taking, routing messages to the appropriate area for direction, order and referral entry, setting up of cases in EMR system plus basic registration and updating of demographics.
• Assists physician/nurse practitioner with exams and procedures.
• Accurately documents medical information in the patient records.
• Tracks and routes test results to physician(s)/nurse practitioner(s) for review.
• Communicates test results with patients when deemed appropriate by physician/nurse practitioner.
• Facilitates patient care activities, to include scheduling ancillary tests, reinforcing patient education, and performs triage as appropriate and directed by physician/nurse practitioner (as per site operation).
• Maintains adequate inventory of medical, office, and pharmaceutical supplies.
• Performs basic computer skills in using electronic health record proficiently while conducting daily documentation and communications involved in patient care.
• Processes orders appropriately and accurately.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Licensure:
BLS certification required.
Medical Assistant certification preferred.

Education (one of these four):

• Completion of a medical assistant program, or equivalent experience; or Associate degree in respiratory care.
• Certified pulmonary function technologist or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• High school education or GED equivalent required.

Skills:
Clinical work experience under a physician knowing how to work with patient care, pulmonary function procedures, and respiratory equipment and sleep studies.
Computer skills.

● Collect, analyze and integrate patient information in order to identify and meet the patient-specific needs in conjunction with the ordering physician or clinical director and laboratory protocols

● Complete and verify patient documentation

● Explain pre-testing, testing, and post-testing procedures to the patient

● Prepare and calibrate equipment as required for testing

● Verify patient video recording(s) is operating properly per laboratory standard protocol

● Apply electrodes and sensors according to accepted published standards

● Perform appropriate physiologic calibrations to ensure proper signals and make adjustments if necessary

● Perform positive airway pressure (PAP) mask fitting

● Follow “lights out” procedures to establish and document baseline values (such as body position, oxyhemoglobin saturation, respiratory and heart rates, etc.)

Certified Sleep Tech (RPSGT or have a NY State License) is a must

JOB DUTIES:
