BIO
Robert Hamilton is a dual board-certified Nurse Practitioner in both Family Practice and Psychiatric Mental Health. He earned his Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Dominican College in 2016, followed by a Post-Master’s Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health from SUNY Binghamton in 2018.
Robert brings a diverse clinical background that includes Urgent Care, Psychiatric Emergency Services, Adult Inpatient Psychiatry, and outpatient mental health treatment for both children and adults, ages 6 to 99. His approach is rooted in thoughtful diagnosis and personalized care, occasionally incorporating neuropsychological testing to fine-tune diagnoses when needed.
He has extensive experience treating conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD (with a preference for non-stimulant treatments in adults), and behavioral issues associated with autism and dementia. For children and adolescents, he provides compassionate care for anxiety, OCD, ADHD, tic disorders, depression, and autism-related behaviors.
Robert is also trained in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), a non-invasive and well-tolerated option for treatment-resistant depression, especially in cases where traditional medications have fallen short.
Outside of work, Robert enjoys indoor and outdoor gardening, experimenting in the kitchen (and convincing his kids to try the results), discovering new music on Spotify, and following New York sports, especially the Knicks, Yankees, and Giants. He’s also a Minecraft mining partner to his daughters and stays up to date on emerging treatments in mental health.
