BIO
Dr. Jennifer Rivas, PhD, FNP-C is a nomadic New Yorker. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology and later attended Farmingdale State College for Nursing School. She received her master’s degree at SUNY Upstate Medical College in their Family Nurse Practitioner program with a minor in Nursing Education.
She began her NP career at Weill Cornell Medical College where she collaborated with renowned neuro-oncologist and researcher, Dr. Howard Fine to establish a neuro-oncology clinical and clinical trial program. This is where she found her passion for research, pursuing a doctoral degree at Vanderbilt University. She graduated with her PhD in nursing science, health services research in 2023. Jennifer has ten plus years of experience, also having worked with Thomas Eanelli as a radiation oncology NP, been a part of the GHMC leadership team, and with the Department of Health specializing in home care services.
Jennifer resides in the community and spends most of her free time rearing two small children and planning day trips with her family. She enjoys yoga and gardening.
