Dr. Sharon Valencia (Podiatrist) offers these tips to protecting your feet from summer weather:
1) Limit barefoot walking, as it exposes you to not only sunburn, but athlete’s foot, ringworm and a host of other infections and increased risk to injury;
2) Don’t forget sunscreen on your feet!;
3) Staying hydrated minimizes foot swelling caused by the heat;
4) Keep the blood flowing with regular ankle flexes, toe wiggles and calf stretches.
