1) Drink Warm — Hot tea or coffee may feel warm, but the caffeine increases blood flow to the skin. Thus your body is actually losing heat! Try sticking to decaffeinated or herbal hot drinks instead.
2) East Well — Eating regular meals will help to keep you warm. Healthy hearty foods such as soup and stews are great for this. Try to include carbohydrates in your dishes, too.
3) Get Moving — This may be the last thing you want to do in the cold, but exercise gets the blood pumping around your body, essentially heating up your skin.
4) Stay Social — This weather may make you feel like hibernating at home, but studies have shown that social exclusion can make you feel colder, and that spending time with people literally warms you up. So remember to socialize this winter to help keep the cold at bay, not to mention boosting your mood!
