Stretching when you first wake up in the morning is one of the kindest things you can do for your body, as it boosts circulation and digestion, while also relieving any back pain.
Ease your body into position until you feel the stretch, then hold it for 25 seconds. Breathe deeply to help your body move oxygen-rich blood into your muscles. And be sure not to bounce or force yourself into an uncomfortable position.
And always check with your doctor first before beginning any stretching program.
