With summer BBQ’s awaiting us all over the next couple of months, some tips on summer food safety from our doctors:
1) Always use a meat thermometer (temperature matters more than color);
2) Slice your own cantaloupe (pre-sliced from stores can contain more bacteria than most other fruit);
3) Use a cooler (you risk bacteria with warm temperatures;
4) Don’t wash poultry or other meat (it can spread bugs).
Happy BBQing!
